We were not able to test 4G as our city doesn't have any LTE networks yet.The phone has a 3000mAh battery and lasts about a day and a half with moderate use. The phone also offers 4G LTE connectivity in addition to the regular suit of connectivity options and FM Radio. Call quality and network reception were pretty decent. The sound output through the phone's speaker outlet was good. We don't endorse benchmark tests and do not recommend a phone based solely on benchmarks as real world performance is different at times. We were able to play videos of popular file formats without any hiccups. The benchmark scores are comparable to that of YU Yureka but lag behind Xiaomi Mi 4i. In synthetic benchmarks, the Nubia Z9 mini scored 15,497 in Quadrant Standard, 33,224 in AnTuTu and 58.4 in NenaMark 2. We did observe that the phone has a tendency to slightly heat up after playing games for more than 10-15 minutes. Thanks to 2GB of RAM, we didn't struggle with opening multiple apps or browser tabs in the background. We found the Nubia Z9 mini to be very responsive and there was no lag or stutter during casual use. It has 16GB internal storage and a microSD card slot that supports cards of up to 128GB. In terms of hardware, the ZTE Nubia Z9 Mini is well endowed and comes with a 64-bit 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB RAM. It also offers motion sensing gestures (flip to mute, shake to change songs, shake to clear notifications) and double tap to unlock. We've spotted these features mostly on large screen phones and we're not sure if users will find these handy on a 5-inch device. The software also offers advanced features like split screen functionality to run two apps simultaneously and a one-hand use mode. You can of course download and install an alternate launcher. But it will take some time to get used to if you have already been using an Android smartphone. The unified home screen-app launcher style may come across as user-friendly to people who have not used an Android phone before. Just like Xiaomi's MIUI and Gionee's Amigo skins, the UI is devoid of an app drawer and app icons and widgets are spread across the home screens. The phone doesn't feature Android Lollipop's visual elements the system apps don't sport Material design and the app switcher is similar to the one on MiUI. The company calls the software skin Nubia UI and adds custom apps, app icons, menus and transition effects to give it a distinct flavour. 12,999.The Nubia Z9 Mini runs a highly customized version of Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. (Note: Driver need for PC for connection, I used Nubia emergency tool 1.0. If your budget is below 15k, then the Xiaomi Mi 4i offers the same performance as the Nubia Z9 Mini and a slightly less impressive camera, at Rs. Unbrick your Nubia Z9 mini using 'Nubia Toolstudio V 4.6.90.' Step 1: Connect your phone with Your Computer PC in 'Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008' mode by pressing volume -,+ and power buttons, press all three buttons Simultaneously for 15 sec. On the other hand, if you need your phone to perform, then the Asus Zenfone 2 is a much better option. If you have a budget above 15k and need the best camera a smartphone can offer, then you need to look no further than the ZTE Nubia Z9 Mini. So you buy this phone if and only if you have a budget above 15k but below 20k and want the best camera possible. Next, while the Nubia Z9 Mini does have the best camera in the sub-20k segment, the Xiaomi Mi 4i’s camera is no slouch. So, should you buy the ZTE Nubia Z9 Mini? Do you need your phone to deliver pure performance or does the camera take priority for you? If you need performance, then either the 2GB and 4GB RAM variants of the Asus Zenfone 2 are the phones you should pick, while the former costs around Rs. On a regular day’s usage, the phone should last you for the full day, and using the power saver modes, you can stretch it a bit further as well. In our battery test, the ZTE Nubia Z9 Mini goes on for about seven hours, while it clocks 5 hours and 24 minutes on the Geekbench 3 battery test. While ZTE couldn’t pack a 3100 mAh battery pack in this like the Xiaomi Mi 4i, the 2900 mAh battery does last quite long. It’s not a phone you’d want if you’re a big gamer, or want your device to provide unparalleled performance. You phone will lag pretty easily, and even start heating up quite fast. Just like the Xiaomi Mi 4i, the ZTE Nubia Z9 Mini is not for gamers or heavy users. On the one hand, the Snapdragon 615 isn’t the best performer, on the other hand, the Xiaomi Mi 4i has the exact same configuration at a price point that is 4k lower than this phone. It runs on a Snapdragon 615 SoC along with 2GB of RAM. The real pitfall for the ZTE Nubia Z9 Mini is in its performance.
